The University Centre

During the week, students have their dinner at the University Centre where students have the choice of various meals. The food is really good!

Stratford and Warwick Castle

In the morning students were given a quick tour around Stratford and then had free time to explore the sights themselves. In the afternoon we drove to Warwick Castle as shown n the hoots below. We all had a really fun day and were lucky with the weather as the sun shone all day! We look forward to meeting new students who arrive tomorrow and as always, we are sad to see students leave us, we hope you will return to Studio again next year!

Punting

Last night we all went punting! The last time that we went, there was a lot of rain but yesterday was extremely sunny and everyone had a great time. We had five chauffeured Sir John punts that did the tour, so all students had a unique experience learning about the history of the colleges that line the river. Here are a couple of photos:

Even the Course Director got involved although he wasn't too good at dodging the foilage (trees)
Tomorrow's activity will be charcoal sketching where students will have the opportunity to show their artistic qualities As usual, on Friday, given the early departure due to the excursion on Saturday we will be watching films in the residences as well as students having the opportunity to watch the Opening Ceremony of the Olympics!

Tennis & Volleyball Activity

Action shots of Monday night's activity!! There was a really high standard of both tennis and volleyball, unfortunately the video recorded shows a really good point and then everyone seemed to get shy of the camera and weren't able to hold their serve. In the end, the team furthest from the camera won but there was a good effort from everyone!!

Student of the Week from the past two weeks were Ricardo Romeo who didnt want a photo and Chiara C who left us on Sunday (see below), watch this space for this weeks Student of the Week!

This Week

Its been another busy week at the Sir John School and luckily the weather has been improving! On Tuesday afternoon students learnt about English Culture in their lesson which we will be continuing in our movie night tonight where we will watch Billy Elliot and either War Horse or Get Him to the Greek depending on student preference.

On Tuesday, students spent the evning dancing at the studio disco! Wednesday was badminton and a little outdoor tennis once the rain had stopped. Staff also got really involved and the centre Course Director even made an appearance to show everyone his Badminton skills-well done Louise for giving him a run for his money!

Jorgan and Vince having a "dance off", moving so much that we couldnt get a non-blurry photo!!
Jorgen is dancing in he video below, white collar, Michael Jackson style

Yesterday students learnt a little more about Cambridge and its Colleges by taking part in a "Photo Chase". Get a picture in front of the colleges that were drawn on their answer sheet, write down the correct names and the first group back won a prize!

Tomorrow (Saturday) we are all off to London for the 2nd time so far. New students will go around some of the main sights and students who have already visit London will visit some of the famous London Museums including the Scince, Natural History and Victoria & Albert Museum-can't wait!

Hope you all have a great weekend!
