A trip to London, The Fitzwilliam Museum and this week so far...

On Friday evening students went and played volleyball at a local sports hall. As usual there were some very talented Sir John students. here are a few snaps from the evening, some are a little blurry as they were moving too fast!!

On Saturday we all went to London. As some students had already been to London with Studio there were two different excursions. The new students did what we call 'London 1' which includes all the sightseeing, visiting the National Gallery and having free time in Covent Garden. Students who have been with Studio for the last three weeks did 'London 2'. This involved some free time in the West End (what Londoners refer to as the shopping area of central London in comparison to the East End which is 'The City' and is more commercial and for businesses). In the afternoon, we went to Cromwell Road where there are three fantastic museums: The Science Museum, The Natural History Museum and The Victoria and Albert Museum. Here are a few photos from the day:

One of the RAOs on Regent Street.

Dropped off outside the V&A.

Lots of happy students. Inga displaying the 'peace' sign

Just 'chilling'....

Funny Faces!

A very interesting chandelier

The end of the day, a lovely group photo!

Along with many arrivals and departures, we had an activity to the Fitzwilliam Museum. The main exhibition at the moment is on the history of the Afro Comb. Here are some photos from the trip:

On Sunday night, new students and old students met to get to know each other and play some games....

Although Cambridge is one of the driest cities in the UK, yesterday evening it rained very heavily. However that didn't stop four corageous students from wanting to go punting! Well done Ares, Stephanie, Manon and Shelia.

3 out of 4 of the staff members who went! We may all look happy at this point but we all had a great time and the small group was nice as we got to spend a lot of time with the students who came.

A post-punting group photo. Luckily whilst we were punting the weather had improved!
