Last weekend.

After a busy weekend we are now through to the middle of the third week of the Sir John Course and so are now half way through...

Friday saw staff and students go down to a local sports hall where we all played Badminton, Volleyball and Basketball. Some of the students were really talented and it was great to see lots of students of mixed ability getting involved:

Francesco about to spike the ball.

...will it be in??

This shot went through the ring!

Alessandro on the move....so fast the picture is blurred!

On Saturday, our 2nd excursion of the course was to London. Students were taken on a walking tour for part of the morning where they got to see some of the sights including Downing Street, Buckingham Palace, Big Ben and Westminster Abbey. They had the chance to explore Trafalgar square and the National Gallery before heading to Covent Garden to enjoy the entertainment and shopping opportunities.

One of my favourite memorials in London.

Typically London: red postbox, red bus, London underground, Houses of Parliament

We arrived safely back to Cambridge in the evening for dinner. The evening activity on Saturday was Charcoal sketching, related to this weeks theme of the week 'What's new? Shopping and Fashion', where students designed some interesting fashion ideas.

On Sunday, as well as some students departing and others joining the Sir John course, current students had the opportunity to visit the Botanical Gardens of Cambridge. In the evening, as has become customary, we had welcome games for new and existing students where they had the chance to get to know each other and make new friends!
